on the cusp
of my sixtieth year
I cast off
my spent carapace
in the moon-damp night
mule deer
resting in a thicket
by the slough
all over this world
the sound of guns
spring peepers
beside the swollen rill
how plaintive
the sound of longing
this anniversary night
Welcome to this archive of my published poetry, photography and art. Thank you for allowing me to share my creative passions with you, and for taking the time to visit. I unfold my origami self / and swim into a lake of fire / washing my hair in ashes / the crane-legged words / of a thousand burning poems.
