This page contains poems that, for the most part, were not originally published in a visual format. The text-only versions of these poems appear on the home page with first publications credits. Most of these haiga, shahai/photo-ku, and tanka art were originally posted on my Twitter feed, and many are not considered to be haiga in the truest sense of the word! These images were created by using the illustrative, interpretive, and associative techniques discussed in Jim Kacian's article here:
I am inspired by contemporary Haiga Masters Ion Codrescu, Kuniharu Shimizu, and Ron Moss, among others practicing this venerable art form.
