Grateful to have the following four haiku chosen for the final issue of the highly esteemed Shamrock Haiku Journal:

the screech of a gate
I didn't fix

dead conifer
a stairway of fungi
to the stars

lock-keeper's pipe
a pelican swallows
the last light

sea-churn
a driftwood bird
takes flight

a muskrat
sequins of sun ripple
the silence

shining wind the halt and sway of evergreens

frosted dawn
crows spill across
the horizon

rangeland
webs of rain connect
the thistles

peat bog
the spreading fire
of cloudberries

frost settles . . .
many moons dot
the dark field

a familiar song
in its throat
