neon lights the flick-flick-flickering of snow
sleeping rough
the dried fungus he uses
for tinder
fierce waves
pummel rocky cliffs . . .
the widow waits
for a boat she knows
will never come home

I unfold my origami self / and swim into a lake of fire / washing my hair in ashes / the crane-legged words / of a thousand burning poems.
