a black filly
with one blue eye . . .
earthshine

star trails . . .

into morning

falling star . . .
the silver bracts
of protea

cloud fragments . . .
the slow blossoming
of stars

candle ice . . .
we learn to let go
of the past

new year's dawn

on our windows

awakening . . .
buds on a rose I thought
was dead

our silver anniversary . . .
night-blooming cacti
light the desert

whale watching . . .
our breath the length
of a rainbow

a drift
of blue poppies . . .

Incense Dreams, Issue 1.3 - Shadow and Light, December 2017

Cha No Keburi - Italian Blog of Haiku, Senryu and Short Poetry

Translated by Lucia Fontana

bird shadows
the play of light
on water

snowlight
outside my window
a flurry of finches

our names
escape her
fireflies

moon rays
between conifers
sifting snow

mixed clouds
the light and dark
of mood swings

supercell
a rainbow shows
its dark side

This series, "The Other Side of Light", explores the light that is found in the shadows of photographic negatives. These dreamlike images embody the idea that "there is more to life than meets the eye"!
