This page contains poems that, for the most part, were not originally published in a visual format. The text-only versions of these poems appear on the home page with first publications credits. Most of these haiga, shahai/photo-ku, and tanka art were originally posted on my Twitter feed. They were created by using the illustrative, interpretive, and associative techniques inspired by the Haiga Master, Ion Codrescu, though most are not considered to be haiga in the truest sense of the word! The Haiga Master, Kuniharu Shimizu, has also been a source of great inspiration. Please click on the images for a larger format. New content will be added from the top down...
Welcome to this archive of my published poetry, photography and art. Thank you for allowing me to share my creative passions with you, and for taking the time to visit. Please be kind, and do not copy any of the content on this site without permission and attribution. All rights reserved © Debbie Strange. I unfold my origami self / and swim into a lake of fire / washing my hair in ashes / the crane-legged words / of a thousand burning poems.
